Ran Slavin’s enigmatic poetic thriller, Call for Dreams is set in Tokyo and tells the story of a woman who places a newspaper ad asking strangers to share their dreams with her when through a complex chain of events, an Israeli detective investigating a crime in Tel Aviv is drawn into her project. A dreamy tale of dreams between strangers, the elusive reality in urban isolation, and fictional circumstances.
Filmmaker, video artist & experimental electronic musician, Slavin is a multifaceted artist and filmmaker spanning exhibitions of video installations, innovative electronic music, and cinema in significant museums, film festivals, art centers, and events internationally. His elaborate films & installations often highlight threshold situations, thresholds of perception, virtuality in reality, and the tensions between myth, history, and the imagination. As a digital artist, his films, sound work, and video installations often utilize layered work & post-production as a native sensibility.
