Maddie Billok (b.1998) is a 2D animator, storyboard artist, and visual development artist. Originally from upstate NY, she now resides in Boston. Her work stems from a childhood love of fantasy and the possibilities of the intersection between the magic and the mundane. Influenced by a variety of magical girl anime and the heightened, surreal worlds of directors like Kunihiko Ikuhara and Baz Luhrmann, her work aims to convey fantastical worlds filled with characters with human emotion, aided by the use of vivid color. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in animation in May 2021, with both animation department honors and academic honors.
