Piotr Wyrzykowski alias Peter Style born in 1968 in Gdańsk, is an new media artist, performer, and set designer. Wyrzykowski works with mobile applications, video, multimedia performance, photography, web projects, installation, and screenings in public space. He studied interior design (1989–1991), and painting (1991–1995) at the Academy of Fine Art in Gdańsk. MA at Intermedia Studio of Professor W. Czerwonka. In the 1990s, he was an active participant of the Gdańsk art scene. Co-funder of the CSW Laznia, (former Open Atelier Foundation) and vice president of Wyspa Progress Foundation. Co-founder and artistic director of CUKT – Central Office of Technical Culture active from 1995 to 2001. When CUKT’s net service came into being it was one of the most interesting and advanced Internet projects. The best known project of the group was among others the media performance – ‘Presidential Campaign of Wiktoria Cukt’ that proposed a virtual candidate for the President of Poland. Wiktoria was an interface of computer program for collective decision making called OSW. Wyrzykowski’s video Beta Nassau (1993) is in the collection of MoMA, New York. Lives and works in Gdańsk.
