“Wavelengths” is a sound performance by Dimos Vryzas based on ambient music and improvisation. The beginning of a practical research (work in progress) that emphasizes on sound and the creation of soundscapes. This work focuses on the present using the past and the future. Nothing is predetermined. The combination of the classical sound of the violin with the electric sound of the instrument through Fx’s as well as the use of radio explores the contrasting relationship of the past with the future. “Wavelengths” was presented once in Athens, in January 2022, in a private event with a limited number of people attending. The electroacoustic concert / performance was recorded by Katerina Charalambidou and Giorgos Mpougioukos. With the addition of shots of Dimos Vryzas’s personal archive the final video lasting 39 minutes was created. The director Katerina Charalambidou edited the video. Among others “Wavelengths” deals with things such as: Soundscapes | Silence (or her absence) | Improvisation | Random accidents | Duration | Transitions |

Dimos Vryzas is a violinist, improviser, sound artist and composer from Thessaloniki, Greece. For several years now his focus in music has moved toward free improvisation.
