The film is open to individual interpretation. That’s what I was looking for, an open meaning that each person could interpret. As for me, I think I wanted to convey a message of hope. Even though our contemporary society is defined by capitalism and frenetic consumerism, there is still beauty to find in this chaos. Even though we are pushed to eat chain food watching chain TV, each of us is a beautiful unique human being. And at the end, we can all find the essence that lies at the heart of things. The delivery boy wanders through these deserted post-apocalyptic landscaped, delivering food to people watching TV. Until he enters this place where he finds a bird, symbol of hope. I took inspiration from the Last Supper for this place. As if he was delivering the body of Christ, hence the title. It’s not a religious message though, more a spiritual one. A way to say that there’s more to reality than meets the eye. “Something”, constantly fading, lies beyond our perceptions.
