Born on January 20, 1993 in the city of Sao Paulo (Brazil), Davi Mello is a filmmaker, writer and researcher in Cinema and Audiovisual. He is a doctoral student in Education, Art and Cultural History and has a Master in Communication Studies. His research involves cinematographic ethics and aesthetics in postwar Polish cinema, as well as the diverse scenery of experimental films and audiovisual installations. As a director and screenwriter, he has award-winning short films, which were screened in more than 90 film festivals, including selections at Rio Film Festival, Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival, Bogoshorts (Colombia), Fest New Directors | New Films (Portugal), Fantaspoa, among others. In 2020, he created the virtual installation “Odradek Experiment - No Fixed Abode” alongside filmmaker Deborah Perrotta, co-production between Brazil and Italy. Some of the installation's films were awarded and selected for important events, such as the Festival In Out, an audiovisual installation that takes place annually in the city of Gdansk (Poland), at the Laznia Center for Contemporary Art.
