I always dreamed of making a short film, this is my first one, my first exercise. And just like Icarus, I flew too close to the sun and burned my waxwings in a way. I was always interested in cinema, in the themes presented in it, the subjectivity or objectivity of it, the interpretations and the true meaning of the auteur. After I read Andrei Bazin’s work I started wondering ”What is Cinema?”, so armed, like a caveman, only with a super 8 film camera I tried finding an answer to my question. Unfortunate I didn’t find an answer and I returned to an observational cinema just like in the movie “Man with a Movie Camera”.
