Only time stays if everything—content, subject matter—is stripped away.But as time goes away and the video finishes off, the object in the video finally reveals itself fully. It’s an inverse relationship—you can’t have both time and the fully-revealed object.
Born and living in Hong Kong, Teresa Leung exhibited her works previously in Armenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Canary Islands, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, the UK, and the US.She was awarded a project grant for participation in an artist-in-residence program in Armenia during Sep-Dec 2015 by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. She was also one of the 40 finalists selected from more than 3,100 entries in the Contemporary Talents 2012 competition organized by the Fondation Francois Schneider in France.Leung’s interested in the possibilities of urban non-places, art-as-an-experience, and urban development and transformation in post-soviet countries such as those in South Caucasus, which led her to join artist-in-residence programs in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan in both 2014 and 2015. She graduated from the MA in Fine Arts program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011.
