On the evening of Independence Day, lonely Solomon stands, lost in thought, on a bridge next to the Tel Aviv central station. As the fireworks die down a vision in the sky with him as a baby and his mother appears and for a short moment, he is transported back to his childhood.

Gal Kinan is a visual artist who moved into the field of animation six years ago. She lives and works in Amsterdam and Tel Aviv. From 2017-2019 she worked on a children's TV series at Pitchipoy Animation Production studio, Israel. In September 2020 she completed her master’s degree in Animation program at AKV/St.Joost MIVC (with honors), in The Netherlands. She also was one of the three winners of the Wacom Talent Development Award 2020. “Mother” is her first film and was produced with the support of “Gesher” Multicultural Film Fund, Israel. Since her graduation in September 2020, she worked as a freelancer on commercials, short and featured films in Germany, The Netherlands and Israel, with studios such as Submarine production company, The Fabricant, PitchiPoy Production and more. These days she is working on a new short animation film called "Red Thread" with the support of Film Fund Nege and “Gesher” Multicultural Film Fund, Israel.
